Surely these families will be able to cover Trump’s $1000 Tariff Tax with that supremely generous $1.50 per week extra they’re getting in their paychecks thanks to the GOP!
2、ontherooftop
I bought a cooler recently and at the check out they actually listed the cost of the tariff as its own line with above the sales tax. I feel like if every item impacted by the tariffs had that highlighted, people would be more outraged. If the tariff was just included in the price, I would have had no idea I was paying an extra $12 thanks to Trump.

The middle class has shrunk dramatically. That’s bad for stability
there is barely a middle class anymore, which is shown in my comment where if you can’t afford to fix your car, there is no planet you should/would be considered middle class. Most of the middle class is delusional thinking they’re apart of it while simultaneously can’t afford a car repair.

40% of American’s can’t cover a 400 dollar emergency.
The middle class is not well defined it could be:
Individuals making $20,000,
Individuals making between $25,000 and $100,000 a year
Individuals making $33,000
25% to 66% of households in America
“professionals or business owners who share a culture of domesticity and sub-urbanity and a level of relative security against social crisis in the form of socially desired skill or wealth”
Or we might be talking about the Upper middle class, Professional middle class, the working class, or the lower middle class.
We can add your criteria to the list but it is just as poor a criteria as anyone elses.
Ultimately though a large majority of the percentage of American’s can’t afford 400 dollars extra let alone 1000 dollars.
5、believeinapathy
The definition of the middle class in the United States today is quite absurd.
Then the definition of middle class is pretty ridiculous. There is a VERY large difference between someone making 30k and someone making 100k. Someone making 30k I can understand not being able to afford it, but i also wouldn’t put someone taking home maybe 22k a year after taxes as middle class, they are lower-class.
In my state full time minimum wage is $25k per year before taxes, definitely not middle class by any definition, yet they’re being included in these statistics?
The modern middle class is mostly an illusion as far as I’m concerned, especially when most people in this category cannot pay a surprise $500-$1000 bill. You’re not middle class, you’re one step away from poverty.

I had to take a few unapid days this last month due to my kids getting sick a few times in succession after starting at a new daycare.
Hardly a “medical emergency” and I’m already feeling it hit hard…
7、Totally_a_Banana
everything in the US is a giant fucking ripoff.
My copay is only like $20 per visit, which doesn’t sound too bad, but when I’m already paying over $600/month just for the insurance, then make it 5 visits between my 2 kids and wife who all got sick from the cold my kids brought home from daycare, leading to 2 cases of pinkeye, one for each kid, and an ear infection for my wife….it was bad. Rough month.
We had to take a number of UNPAID days off and still had to pay for my kids’ daycare while they couldn’t go.
Like I said, not even a medical emergency. No one had to go to the ER. Just a few days missed from work because of a bad cold, and we’re already feeling it weight down on us.

I was just talking about this with some of my peers (I’m a teacher), but the number of students who have to work 20-40 hour work weeks after school to support their families these days in absolutely insane.
I routinely have students fall asleep in class because their life is literally school --> work --> sleep (for like 3-4 hours) --> school --> repeat. That is not okay and the fact we’ve allowed our country to just slide into this reality is infuriating. I was in high school just a decade ago and before the great recession you just didn’t have this many families who need to depend on their adolescent children to help bring in enough money to keep food on the table.
America is not close to being the greatest country on earth right now and I’m frankly disgusted by it.

I worked 3 jobs in highschool to pay for me and my sister’s clothing, food, childcare and activities.
Although, I am proud of my efforts. But I have to admit that my situation is rare among Americans.

Dude, manufacturing left this country decades ago. Look at the rust belt. It’s rusty for a reason.
In addition to that even a lot of the American products made in the US uses materials sourced overseas and then it brings the prices up for US products also. You also have the US companies raising prices close to the foreign items so they are making more money. The unfortunate loser in this scheme is the American public being forced to pay much more.

Funny when I go looking around youtube for stuff like counterfeit Gibson guitars--it’s the damnedest thing. The reviews are always some conservative old boomer complaining about ‘China’ as they repeatedly send them money??
It’s a recurring theme--harbor freight tools etcetc They whine and whine and yet they don’t stop buying it. And the tariffs actually encourage even more bootlegging.
Back in the day they used to talk crazy smack about Japanese guitars--and these days they praise those same guitars to no end??

Tariffs are a tax on the people of the country imposing the tariffs.
Dealing with China is not without it’s challenges, yes, but the policy of economic engagement with China has been an incredible engine for growth in the world and the liberalization of Chinese society.
The TPP (which Trump scuttled) was specifically designed as a counterbalance to China across a broad range of economic and political issues. It was an outstanding multinational multifaceted pact involving 14 allies and friends. When America pulled out, China opens champagne to celebrate

Apple has been moving production into India. Plus, some companies do make their phones in Korea and other Asian countries. Plus, not EVERYTHING is made in China. Most of the minerals and materials are mined in other countries which is then sold to countries like China, which where they “make something”. Nothing is perfect, but you have to look at the bigger picture。
Trump said He wanted to spend your money on American soil though. You can’t. That is not how the world’s markets operate any more. Isolationist economics don’t work.

I almost don’t want to show you September…What’s happening now makes me feel like I’m dreaming!Trump has propagated his “goals” to us over and over again。but it has a goal. We have been getting screwed by China,I’m sorry, what’s the goal? And how exactly is this getting us there?
he is just regurgitating republican words, he doesn’t actually know how it works,Yes, we voted for a duplicate puppet!

正如網友“__ezekiel__”所説的那樣:
