1、Chris Ebbert, Innovation Advisor
I lived in Shanghai for three years and worked at a university. I lived in an average apartment, in an average area of town, and took the metro to work.
I would say it was a pleasure.Life in Shanghai is inspiring, friendly, and rewarding. I also regularly visited Beijing and Wuxi, which had a lot to offer, as well.
Generally speaking, life in China is full of challenges and beauty. I think I will miss this place.

2、Hold the orange peel
Chinese are great fun; energetic, witty, resourceful, and quick to share a laugh or a smile; I’ve had a blast with the people there! Even ended up taking one home with me, first to England, then on to Sweden.
3、Bear hunting
Yes, I think China is a magical place. Not only Chinese people are interesting, but there are many interesting foreigners here.
You will meet more interesting people in China than in your country. Westerners who come to China are usually very mixed, most of them have extraordinary views, but I prefer to play and chat with Chinese people, especially in terms of history. Insights, very interesting!
4、Francisco
In China everything grows so fast, before you know it, you are the managing director of something, with your own team; China “made me,” I can say that for certain, because I was given opportunities there I never would have had at home.
When I came to China from New Zealand, I went to nine countries. At that time, I didn’t have expectations for China, but I was surprised here.

China’s cities are exciting, huge and dazzling. They are full of opportunities and strange things. Delicious food, beautiful scenery and long cultural history will entertain you infinitely.
6、Ted Garza
Hahaha, China is full of opportunities?
You are completely wrong! You should hear the real stories about living in China. Not the propaganda bs it is spread in Quora. And remember, India in a bit more than 10 years will be the 3rd economy power in the world! That’s being said by most economists. And India is achieving this through democracy.
7、Cole Masters
Enough, shut up Indians!
When you say this, I doubt if you have ever been to China!
Rural life is a way of life that cultivates sentiment, but people who stay in the countryside still need to see it with their own eyes, and then evaluate things outside the countryside better!
Otherwise, the wanton evaluation full of nonsense, in exchange for only one kind of response: the country bumpkin!

Living in China is both a pleasure and a torment, sometimes at the same time. Why do you say that? When I sit in a Chinese restaurant on the street enjoying delicious food and people coming and going, it’s an incomparable pleasure,
but if I drag the time back to 20 minutes ago, everything seems not so happy. First of all, I need not to be suffocated in the crowded crowd of the subway, and after successfully arriving at my favorite restaurant, there is a long dragon that can’t be seen. Of course, you should The prayer “line up” exists…

9、The ice age is coming!
I live in a second-tier city (Guiyang) in China’s third poorest province (Guizhou).I haven’t had the ‘normal’ Beijing/Shanghai/Guangzhou expat experience.
I’m a star. That’s right. Students literally clap for me when I walk into the classroom. Children approach me and ask for my we-chat. People ask to take pictures of me or sneak them on the subway. And when I start speaking Chinese? Forget about it. I’ve done literally nothing special and get to feel like Ryan Gosling for it.
I’m catching a glimpse of the real China:I’m surrounded on one side by regular city-dwellers and on the other by slash-and-burn peasants. I meet the richest of the rich and poorest of the poor.
I schmooze with businessmen and government officials and cackle with taxi drivers whose mandarin is worse than mine. Every day I’m faced with the real China, always in flux。
Everything is so real, there is no malicious derogation, there is no vain praise, this is the real China, a lovely China, a developing China!

10、Adam Hu
I get what you’re saying, but it’s misleading to say that the split between rural and and city is the “real” China - it’s 900 million vs 400 million
Guiyang is ranked 56/61 tier 2 and above cities in China for GDP.
Like, rural/suburban Louisianna or Kansas isn’t the “real” US, they are ranked near the bottom in same terms.
Frankly I think the term is useless. There’s no such thing as the real China. It’s all real. But it certainly doesn’t represent the median, definitely not the average.
However, it seems that our media are not willing to take such an objective view of the problem. They always want to expose the worst side of China and tell everyone that this is China!

I travel often and cheaply: Tibetan areas are some of the most remote on the planet. Thanks to China’s new highways and railway system, I spent a week climbing a random mountain, alone, for a pittance.
Getting there and back was not only easy but fun. And just enough bad things happened to make it all a true adventure。
Here, I have witnessed the harmony of the Chinese people, which was deliberately ignored in the BBC. I think we were probably cheated.

12、Chris Ebbert
When I first started my job as a foreign teacher in a private primary school.
At 6:30 in the morning, the trumpet starts to ring to wake up the students. They go to class at 7:40, have lunch for an hour, finish class at 5:40 p.m., have dinner for an hour, and then go back to class until 10 p.m. The hour at noon is actually a nap time, because students, teachers and other staff are not fully asleep at night.
However, for this “unacceptable” work, all Chinese colleagues are used to it!
Well, I think all aspects of China are good, which is hard to accept, but from here I seem to understand why this country has developed so fast in the past decades - everyone is busy, they are competing against the clock!

正如網友“The ice age is coming!”
