@KY Cha the pointiness in Japanese chopsticks is more for ease of picking out bones. Chinese chopsticks are fatter for better grip and dont have a point so it’’s easier to mix a sauce or something while also making it a poor weapon. Korean chopsticks are metal cuz ease of cleaning and use in hot pot and kbbq.

@Kylie Goodman I use hybrid korean chinese metal chopsticks and got no issue. I even pick out huge tonkatsu planks out of oil with no problem. Just get more used to it.

Chinese are poor and sit around large tables making long chipstics a better option for family meals. Korean royalty had chopstics made of silver because they are royalty and believed that silver negates the effect of poison, to be honedt it is anti bacterial. That’’s why metal chopstics are used, because everyone want’’s to feel like royalty. In Japan people eat a lot of fish, that’’s why they use pointy and short chopstics to be able to have better controll and take out fish bones etc more efficientlly.

The cool thing is we learn something new everyday. I was a street musician. And a beautiful woman bought me sterling silver chopsticks because I always had Chopsticks in my cowboy hat. Do you have any idea how heavy sterling silver Chopsticks are? They were handy when I had to fight off gang members but at that point I did not keep them in my hat. There was one in each boot I am a veteran. I ain’’t scared of nothing. And Homie don’’t play that.

We even have different ways to hold them! China, Korea, and Japanese hold their chopsticks in different ways. (By the proper form) It’’s quite interesting.
Also, as a Korean who tried Vietnam’’s chopsticks, I found it long. (Actually surprised me when I saw it at first) At least compared to the ones I’’ve seen so far in my life。
