外媒5月10日報道，墨西哥最臭名昭著的黑幫之一——“洛斯哲塔斯”——的重要頭目，綽號“胖子梅”的莫伊塞斯·埃斯卡米亞·梅已於兩天前因感染新冠病毒死於哈利斯科州一座聯邦監獄中。

現年45歲的“胖子梅”被認為是2010年坎昆12人被斬首慘案的主導者，2016年被判處有期徒刑37年零5個月。
“洛斯哲塔斯”（西班牙語：LosZetas）由34名特種兵創立，目前是墨西哥境內勢力最大的暴力犯罪集團之一，它曾被美國政府認定為墨西哥販毒集團中“最為先進、嚴謹且危險的組織”。
