China’’s greenhouse technologies are currently boosting the development of Egypt’’s modern agriculture.

埃及現代農業的發展正在被中國的温室技術所推動。 

Chinese company SINOMACH-HI is using these technologies in a large joint project of 600 greenhouses northeast of Cairo. 

中國公司SINOMACH-HI（中國國機重工集團）正在開羅東北部，600個温室的大型聯合項目中使用這些技術。 

Over the past 2 years, the greenhouses turned 1,000 hectares of desert land into a world of fresh fruits and vegetables.

The greenhouses produce tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers and beans which are exported to neighboring countries.

The project can provide about 6,000 job opportunities. It also goes in line with China’’s Belt and Road Initiative.

In May 2017, Egypt and China signed a contract worth 400 million U.S. dollars for the modern agricultural greenhouse joint project.

Another set of 2,350 greenhouses are currently being constructed on an area of 3,900 hectares in Ismailia Province.
