“寧願高原埋忠骨，絕不丟失一寸土”，如何翻譯？_風聞

剛剛看了戍邊烈士遺骸交接現場視頻，不禁淚目。突然很想英譯一句話：

寧願高原埋忠骨，

絕不丟失一寸土。

這句話讓文刀君想起一首中文詩，一句英文。

詩是革命家徐錫麟的《出塞》：

軍歌應唱大刀環，誓滅胡奴出玉關。

只解沙場為國死，何須馬革裹屍還。

一句英文是今早讀書偶遇：

“I Am Malala: The Girl Who Stood Up for Education and Was Shot by the Taliban”

Rather I receive your bullet-riddled body with honor

Than news of your cowardice on the battlefield.

這句英文同樣令人熱血沸騰，不知你是否感受到？

英譯這句“寧願高原埋忠骨，絕不丟失一寸土”，不妨參考上面這句英文的“rather…than”結構。

Rather our soldiers have their bodies buried on the plateau

Than let a single inch of our land be encroached upon.

這樣的結構或許有一點“古風”，有些讀者或許略感不適。如果想讓語言現代一點，不妨把主語“our soldiers”提前，結構上中規中矩一些：

Our soldiers would rather be buried on the plateau

Than relinquish a single inch of our territory.

以上兩種譯法供參考。諸位或許有更好的譯法，比如在譯文中體現“骨”與“土”的押韻。
