苗綠：在聯合國婦女署與CCG“國際婦女節特別研討會”上的演講_風聞

On March 8th, the Center for China and Globalization (CCG) and UN Women China hosted “Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow: a symposium on biodiversity and climate change from a gender perspective” at CCG’s Beijing headquarters.

為呼籲穩定氣候、創造可持續發展環境、促進性別平等，關愛地球和人類，也為了宣傳並加速落實北京宣言和行動綱要，實現2030年可持續發展議程的目標。在2022年3月8日國際婦女節之際，全球化智庫（CCG）與聯合國婦女署聯合舉辦“性別平等共創可持續未來——性別視角下的生物多樣性與氣候變化研討會”。

CCG Secretary-General Mabel Miao gave welcoming remarks. Full text is as below.

CCG秘書長苗綠女士在活動上致辭，以下是她的發言全文。

Your Excellencies, members of the UN family, representatives from government agencies, business community, and academia - distinguished guests – on behalf of everyone at the Center for China and Globalization, welcome!

尊敬的各位使節，聯合國駐華機構成員、各政府機構、商界和學術界代表，尊敬的各位來賓，我謹代表全球化智庫，歡迎你們的到來！

On this very special day for all the women and girls in China and the world, we are honored and delighted to collaborate with UN Women in China to be hosting a symposium on biodiversity and climate change from a gender perspective. First of all, I want to express my gratitude to UN Women China, for giving us enormous support on making this event happen.

在這個對中國及全世界女性來説特別的日子裏，我們很榮幸也非常高興與聯合國婦女署駐華辦事處開展合作，舉辦這場從性別角度探討生物多樣性與氣候變化的專題研討會。首先，感謝聯合國婦女署駐華辦事處對本次活動的大力支持。

It was highlighted at both COP15 and COP26 last year that as crises that the earth confronts have become more severe and urgent to be dealt with every day, a framework that delivers sustainable development that aims to include gender consideration and bend the curve of inequality that women have been facing is desperately needed.

去年聯合國《生物多樣性公約》締約方大會第十五次會議（COP15）和第26屆聯合國氣候變化大會（COP26）都強調了這一點 - 隨着地球面臨的危機日益嚴峻和緊迫，我們亟需一個將性別考慮納入其中、改善女性面臨的不平等現象的可持續發展框架。

Studies have shown that gender disparities everywhere have been causing unfair and inadequate access to resources, and many women’s livelihoods in the rural area tend to be climate-sensitive, and this is a topic will be at the center of the roundtable discussions later this afternoon.

研究表明，世界各地的性別差異造成了資源獲取的不公平與不足，鄉村地區的女性生計往往依賴於環境，對氣候變化更敏感，這是今天下午圓桌會議即將要探討的一個主要議題。

What I would like to stress today, is that the world is in need of a wake-up call for the psychological and cultural factors that have been allowing the  unjust treatment against women, and the importance of women’s role in enabling a more sustainable future for the mankind and our motherland – or as Chinese say, 大地之母.  To fully realize women’s rights along the way of sustainable development, we have to up the perspective to a macro level. Just as the concept of “ecological civilization” has been emphasized in recent years, the idea of harmony with nature has been existing in our culture for a long time, and women have a natural connection to mother nature. The ancient Chinese philosophy of “Yin Yang” implies a perfect combination of two forces that complement each other and make up all aspects of life and nature as whole, and the “Yin” represents the unique female energy and softness.

今天我想強調的是，世界需要被喚醒人們對女性受到不公正待遇的心理和文化因素的認識，以及女性在為人類和大地之母（大自然）創造更加可持續發展的未來方面發揮的重要作用。在可持續發展的道路上充分實現女性權利，我們必須將視角提升到宏觀層面。正如近年來強調的“生態文明”概念，與自然和諧統一的理念一直根植於我們的文化，而女性與自然（母親）有着天然的聯繫。中國古代哲學的“陰陽”理念藴含着兩種力量的完美結合、相輔相成、生活各個方面與自然的和諧統一，其中“陰”代表女性特有的能量與柔和。

Today, addressing the global challenges requires the same logic. The world needs women’s sensitiveness, women’s voice should weigh more on the decision-making of global governance matters, and on issues that are related to protecting our planet earth. Views from women should also be taken into more consideration into the process of inclusive globalization and multilateralism, for women have always been the more tolerant and compassionate gender.

應對當今全球性挑戰需要同樣的邏輯。世界需要女性的敏鋭：在全球治理事務的決策過程中、與保護地球相關的問題上應該賦予女性更多的話語權；再者，女性更加寬容和富有同情心，在推動包容性全球化和多邊主義進程中，也應更多考慮女性的觀點。

As a global think tank, CCG has been showing robust support for the pursuit of SGDs, and female empowerment, especially that of female “think tankers”. More than half of our leadership team and employees are female, and we have put great weight on promoting the development of female talents. We as a think tank, believes in the power of women, and will continue to strive for promoting women’s voice and bettering the position of women in our society.

作為一個國際化智庫，全球化智庫（CCG）一直大力支持可持續發展及女性賦權，尤其是女性“智庫工作者”。我們的領導團隊和員工中半數以上是女性，我們非常重視促進女性人才的發展。作為智庫，我們相信女性的力量，也將為提升女性話語權及社會地位而繼續努力。 

CCG and the UN agencies in China have also embraced great friendship and built a bond for many years and we really appreciate the support and collaboration with UN China. Most recently, we have supported UN Women’s “HeforShe” campaign in China, and last November, our symposium to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the restoration of PRC’s lawful seat in the UN were joined by many members of the UN family in China. As the only think tank in China granted Special Consultative Status by the UN and one of the world’s top 100 think tanks, CCG has been actively on conducting research on international development, global governance, and promoting SDGs and multilateralism in many occasions. 

多年來，CCG與聯合國各駐華機構建立了深厚的友誼，我們非常感謝聯合國駐華機構對我們的支持與我們的合作。最近，我們參與聯合國婦女署在中國開展的“他為她”活動；去年11月，我們與聯合國駐華國別小組（UN in China）聯合舉辦了紀念中華人民共和國恢復聯合國合法席位50週年座談會，許多聯合國在華機構代表參與其中。作為中國唯一一個被聯合國授予特別諮商地位的智庫，以及世界百強智庫之一，CCG一直積極開展國際發展、全球治理等方面的研究，在多個場合推動多邊主義合作及可持續發展目標。

I sincerely hope that CCG can play a role in contributing to the process of “gender equality”, “climate action”, and “life on land” as three important SDGs being translated into reality, and the friendship between us and the UN family will flourish. I want to thank UN Women China again for your work, and thank all the participants for taking your time to come to support our initiates. Finally,I want to thank all the women who have been working tirelessly on empowering herself and her peers, as well as the men who have been supporting the female community.

我衷心希望全球化智庫（CCG）能夠為實現“性別平等”、“氣候行動”和“陸上生命”三大可持續發展目標貢獻力量；衷心希望我們與聯合國各駐華機構的友誼長存。我想再次感謝聯合國婦女署駐華辦事處的工作，並感謝所有支持我們的與會嘉賓。最後，我要感謝所有為賦予自己和同齡人權力而不懈努力的女性，以及一直以來支持女性羣體的男性。
