講給布林肯的這句話，外交部與外媒翻譯不一樣_風聞

6月19日下午，主席會見美國國務卿，引全球關注。外媒普遍轉引這幾句話：

“中國尊重美國的利益，不會去挑戰和取代美國。同樣，美國也要尊重中國，不要損害中國的正當權益。任何一方都不能按照自己的意願塑造對方，更不能剝奪對方正當發展權利。”（參見新華社）

但是，在第三句話的翻譯上，外媒與外交部出現明顯“分歧”。

外交部譯法：

Neither side shoul****d try to shape the other side by its own will, still less deprive the other side of its legitimate right to development. （外交部官網）

《華盛頓郵報》《金融時報》等多家主流外媒這樣翻譯：

Neither party canshape the other according to its own wishes, let alone deprive the other of its legitimate right to development.

兩種譯法，兩種語氣（tone），關鍵區別在情態動詞的使用（should vs can）。

根據外交部譯法，“不能…更不能…”即“不應該…更不應該…”。“should”體現主觀要求與價值判斷，強調“按照自己的意願塑造對方”與“剝奪對方正當發展權利”的非正義性，突出主觀態度上的“不接受”。

外媒普遍照字面把“不能”譯成“Neither … can”，淡化了主觀上的勸誡，側重“ability”或者“possibility”，更像是在陳述一種事實：it’s not possible for any side to shape the other.

情態動詞關乎講話語氣，在外交語境下，情態動詞的使用尤其須仔細斟酌。外交部譯法在語義和語氣上更忠實於原文。
