Americans love options and I’d love to see Vinfast succeed but it’s already a crowded market. If the company can improve it’s product and possibly undercut the competition in price then it could do well but right now it’s a 6 year old company without a proven track record with a car that has issues and is priced above it’s established and brand name trusted competitors.

As a Vietnamese American, most Vietnamese here in the states wouldn’t look at Vinfast. Most would look towards Toyota, Lexus or something similar due to their quality and brand reputation.

As a Vietnamese, i’d say that the headlines u see are quite genuine but it just talk about how it would be used as the ceo of VF expected. I dont want to say that the car sucks but they just like speedrunning the car manufacturing proccess and like they dont fully test it in other country, aslo they just add some (maybe not a lot of annoying) safety fuction.Well, rhe car work great in VN though. I hope that they would test it in US and other country so they can improve the car

Truth be told, the vinfast is made in Vietnam except for the logo, and almost all of its core components are foreign.

I used to live in Hanoi, Vietnam. Lots of Vietnamese people have VinFasts. There was a running joke among my Vietnamese friends that had them that you could only drive them in Hanoi because if you dared to take them to the countryside, you’d never make it back to Hanoi.

In Vietnam, Vinfast even sued and threatened to put a buyer into prison for expressing his Vinfast car’s errors and failures. Vinfast can also call the police to arrest or summon anyone telling something bad about their cars.
