凱特王妃患癌，外媒一段誇張英文令人發笑_風聞

英國凱特王妃22日通過錄播視頻向外界宣佈身患癌症的消息。視頻一出，多家主流外媒發表評論文章，質問近段時間不斷散播陰謀論的小報：

《華盛頓郵報》

《今日美國》

《大西洋月刊》

這三篇評論文章觀點相似，筆法各有千秋，但文中的誇張和隱喻表達都令人印象深刻。比如《今日美國》這一段寫得十分幽默：

**In case you have been living under the heaviest, most remote rock in the world,**Kate underwent surgery in January and announced a months-long retreat from public life to recover. That story didn’t sit well with the public or the media, and they came up with9,234,923,089other reasons for her absence.（USA Today）

不要數了，9,234,923,089 這一串數字大概是作者懷着憤怒的心情在鍵盤上胡亂敲出來的，和“飛流直下三千尺”中的“三千尺”一樣，乃是虛指，數越大越誇張。這種用數字表誇張的手法在外媒寫作中並不少見，很能吸引眼球。

第一句“In case you have been living under the heaviest, most remote rock in the world, ”也是幽默的誇張表達，和中國網民常説的“你家斷網了嗎”有異曲同工之妙。

《大西洋月刊》和《華盛頓郵報》也同樣採用誇張手法描述陰謀論之多：

Kate has effectively been bullied into this statement, because the alternative—awildfireof gossip and conspiracy theories—was worse. （《大西洋月刊》）

Conspiracy theories hadmetastasized, forcing the Princess of Wales to a teleprompter to disclose what the doctors had found inside her body. （《華盛頓郵報》）

“wildfire（野火）”與“metastasize（擴散）”既是隱喻也是誇張，尤其把表達“癌症擴散”的動詞“metastasize”與“陰謀論”搭配起來，很應景，也很有諷刺意味。
