For those interested in this concept, look at Habitat 67 in Montreal, Canada, designed by Moshe Sofdie for the Worlds Fair in 1967. It is far smaller than this complex, but the concept is quite similar.

I don’t know about u folks but the whole thing has lifted my heart. The coldness, the concrete, the small size of the apartments, the scale. humanization erased in a functional and productive society where only profit counts. This building is sick and drags its residents into this darkness.
I would love to see a similar scale in Singapore to compare and see what make those building livable.
Thanks for your work on this channel. I really love the concept. Keep it up!!

This is a concrete jungle. Not a tree, a shrub, a flower or grass in sight. No birds chirping or flying about. No sight of children playing. Lots of empty stores and echoes. It’s impersonal and anonymous. Places like this soon become rundown and neglected.

Thanks for showing us! When was this built? Alot of the plaster, paint, edges are cracking and crumbling…terrible build quality especially if it’s recently built… is it tofu dreg?

Dude, thank you so much for the walking video footage and I really appreciate the frankness in your descxtion about some of the building’s issues. For the sake of the families living there, I hope these issues won’t be catastrophic and somehow, someway these people can eke out happy lives there.

This concept and architectural style is suited for areas with great natural scenery like beach resorts or mountain getaways so the occupants can take in all the surrounding natural beauty.

Would have Liked to see more of the inside on an . You were pretty quick with that part. Most of the “living” there. Would love to see the kitchen, bathroom etc. Just a thought.

I like the architecture and efficient design. The blend of commercial and residential is efficient and provides living needs in walking distance. It has character. It does seem to have a little bit of minimalism/brutalism design in some areas, but not a bad thing just efficient oriented. Seems like there would be good energy in a residential complex like this. The walk-through reminds me of playing a game like Halo in a dystopian city. Unfortunately, this particular complex has signs of tofu-dreg construction.

It’s very unique. May I ask where are all the people? It looks as if it was made for thousands of people to shop, eat, & live in, but it looks like a ghost town. This is so sad…. I really would have liked to have seen some of the apartments along with the kitchens. Thank you for sharing this. I find it wonderfully interesting to see how people in other places live.

Idk why but ever since I visited this resort in Spain I’ve loved the idea of these massive, arcology-like, pyramid structures. I wish we had more architectural experimentation here in the UK. Terraced houses, for all their positives, do get a bit uninspiring after a while.
@zhli4238
Architecturally, this maximizes natural sunlight for the same building footprint. The elevators are not inclined and are in the interior walkways that brings everything together … brilliant ideas.
@dpg227
It’s a really cool idea! Imagine it with a fresh coat of paint, green landscaping and a pool below, and plants, grills and personalized adornments on each balcony. In the apartments, the blocky looking low walls framing the stairs to the second floor would be opened up with railings.
@lesleyM84
architecturally it’s very unique and provides much for the residents… I would really like to see natural plants and greenery all throughout it though… it’s feeling just a bit too sterile as is.. the soft neutrals, greys, white and beiges provide an excellent canvass for plants….. greenery and flowers, trees, etc. would soften it and nurture the souls.. maybe several water sculptures placed around the mezzanines also, to, again, engage the senses and break up the monotony of all the concrete..

This is reminiscent of the brutalist architecture of the Barbican in a very 21st-century way. Also, seeing upside down houses is pretty trippy. I get why giving people outdoor spaces so important and why the design had to take place the way it did. I love outdoor spaces more than interiors. I’m so glad I fell upon your video
@SRBrown9032
I can see how the apartments on the outside have privacy with more windows and a substantial outside space, but I don’t understand about the lower floors. Are those apartments simply much deeper or is there an interior atrium?
@funny-video-YouTube-channel
Nice concept. Could be improved. Slope buildings offer more air space between buildings.
They need skylight mirror tubes in the center of the pyramid !
Internal parts of the pyramid should be all offices and businesses , social spaces, noone should live permanently on the inside apartment.
Terraces need privacy blinds for private spaces. Those offer community IF you know the neighbors. Some hill villages have those.
