That said, it’s Mao’s birthday today, the capabilities/performance of this demonstrator isn’t known, and even if it is a full flying prototype with mission systems installed, demonstrators take years to become production models - witness the J-20 or especially the J-35. Hell, we flew NGAD demonstrators nearly 4 years ago at this point.  The race isn’t over just because they’ve got a new demonstrator - in fact, it’s only just begun.

Regardless of what context lies behind this flight, though the message here is clear. If we want to retain our lead, it’s time that cost take a seat further back in our defense priorities. 19個贊
