The technical upgrade and replacement of switchgear in the substation is progressing smoothly
On April 10th, at the 110 kV Kaixuan Road Substation, the technical upgrade and replacement of the 10 kV second section switchgear is in full swing. This technical upgrade involves replacing the original vertical isolation switchgear with metal-clad withdrawable switchgear, which is of great significance for improving regional power supply reliability and safety.
The 110 kV Kaixuan Road Substation was put into operation in 1991 and has been running for 34 years. The station mainly undertakes the power supply task for the Shawan area, playing a crucial role in the livelihood and economic development of Shawan City. With the continuous improvement in power supply service quality and equipment operation reliability requirements, the company promptly reserved the full-station technical upgrade project, taking the lead in upgrading and renovating the 12 10 kV switchgear panels at the station to fully ensure a reliable power supply in the jurisdiction.
Before the upgrade, the vertical isolation switchgear, due to its poor operational flexibility and inconvenient maintenance, could no longer meet the higher requirements of modern power grids for power supply reliability and refined operation and maintenance. As advanced high-voltage distribution equipment, metal-clad withdrawable switchgear has multiple functions such as control, protection, monitoring, and measurement, which can significantly improve the stability of power system operation.
This technical upgrade project involves the overall replacement of 12 switchgear panels in the 10 kV second section busbar. Since its launch on March 17th, the construction team has faced the challenge of completing the dismantling of old equipment and precise alignment of new equipment within a 1.5-meter-wide cabinet interval, while also ensuring the simultaneous completion of over ten key processes such as cable transfer and protection joint debugging within the 35-day construction period. To address the difficulties of working in narrow spaces, the team adopted a ‘modular disassembly + customized guide rail’ process, reducing the single cabinet replacement time to 50% of the original plan. By establishing a ‘daily plan-hourly checklist’ control mechanism, daily pre-shift meetings are held to clarify core operation nodes, and intelligent tools such as infrared thermometers are configured for process verification. As of now, all 12 metal-clad withdrawable switchgear panels have been hoisted and fixed, and debugging work such as circuit breaker mechanical characteristic tests and five-prevention function linkage tests is underway, laying a solid foundation for the scheduled operation on April 20th.
After the completion of this technical upgrade, it will effectively ensure the stable development of the regional economy, reduce the impact of fault outages on enterprise production, promote the intelligent and digital upgrade of the power grid, and enhance overall safety levels. At the same time, it will further improve the quality of life for residents, ensure the power supply needs of special groups, enhance emergency power supply capabilities in case of incidents, and support rural revitalization and urban-rural integration.
